A little different from the Planet X:

It's a few takes on it.

    Listening to Dazzler dazzle
with that big band sound so
    well, was inspiring. I know
he was having a lot of fun.
    It sounded just great.

I was moved to revisit this
    arrangement, the tune written
by Billy and from his "Conund-
    rum" release, with the London
    Jazz Orchestra:

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Peter, thanks for the comments mate - very kind of you. Incidently, The London Jazz Orchestra is a big band that I play with regularly and consequently some of Billy's arrangements too. They have just recorded a new album of arrangments by a trumpet player called Ed Sarif. It wasn't me on that particular recording but the AMAZING drummer/percussionist, Paul Clarvis. I have played the tunes however and they are well hard!! In 11/8 and 13/8, a proper roast as we say over here!
The band has been going for over 10 years now and you're right, Billy has guested with them. It's a great big band that plays very contemporary music, composed by it's players.
Incidently... I'm loving your salsa grooves.

And thanks for the compliments shedder and Pete. The groove is on a snowboard video by Mack Dawg Productions called 'Breakdown', soon to be released worldwide.

    Dazz,

Thanks. What do you think of
my ideas for the some of the
LJO, like that one just above:

    www.thediametrixletter.com/onthemove5.mp3

    ...especially since you played
    with them. Your opinion matters
    even more on these.

    That was the LJO (London
    Jazz Orchestra), on Billy's
    "Conundrum" - the play-along
that I told you guys about.
    You are working with them?!
    Hot band! You deserve it!

wow! it just didn't sound like them to me strange. But if you say so! It's a very good band and great fun to do. We have a residency every 1st Monday of the month at The Vortex in Stoke Newington, north London.

Here's the link at Amazon but there's not much info there:

Here's another link with a review, which I did not read but mentions the LJO:

    http://www.tigerbill.com/features/wbcobhamconundrum.htm

They're cool tracks to work to.

    Here's my latest Palmieri:

    www.thediametrixletter.com/tutututata1.mp3

They sound like nothing but they are murder to syncopate right, IMHO.

I'm working on another one that's killer.
